The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) supports CSUF’s compliance with state and federal regulations governing research activities through the development and management of research compliance programs in specified areas.

A key goal of the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) is to ensure that research at CSUF is conducted safely, ethically, and legally.  The Compliance Office facilitates the meeting of this goal by coordinating the University’s Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) and compliance trainings for the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) and Conflict of Interest (COI).

The Research Compliance Office is responsible for coordinating and monitoring research programs to assure compliance with applicable regulations, statutes, and institutional policies. This is accomplished, in part, through compliance committees, reports to federal agencies, and training programs. CSUF’s compliance committees are composed of faculty, staff, and community members who thoroughly review research conducted with vertebrate animals, human subjects, and recombinant DNA. The compliance committees include the IACUC, IRB and IBC.

In addition, ORSP subscribes to the online Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program to provide researchers with the training involving human participants (IRB) and vertebrate animals (IACUC), for recognizing and avoiding conflicts of interest, and to fulfill federal RCR training requirements.
